Kyla Gwyn is a 2014 graduate of Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) where she received a Bachelor of Music Degree with a concentration in Music Industry. During her undergraduate experience she studied violin performance, recording industry- commercial songwriting, MIDI/digital audio recording, and Spanish. She has participated in Nashville's All-Collegiate Orchestra and performed at the Grand Old Opry in Nashville, TN. She received the Honorable Mention award at the Bach Festival competition for the college division in Spring 2012 and she participated in both MTSU's Chamber and Symphony Orchestras. She has been recorded in music studios used by artists such as Matchbox Twenty, Taylor Swift, Tim McGraw, and Jewel.
She also completed an internship focusing on artistic administration with the Nashville Symphony during the Spring 2014 semester where she gained valuable experience working with the NSO symphony, staff, and major performing artists.
Kyla is currently a freelance violinist and performs for special events/weddings in the Greater Bloomington/Normal Illinois area. She ultimately plans to have a career in studio recording, teaching, & solo performance.
